The 7 Best Restaurants in Killarney, Ireland
Out of all the best restaurants in Killarney Town, these are some of my favorite picks. Don’t forget to reserve in advance!
Bricín Restaurant and Boxty House

During our time, I don’t think we had a better meal than the meal we had at Bricin Restaurant and Boxty House. This cozy restaurant is perfect for more intimate couples seeking a small and quiet nook and bigger parties alike. Though pricey, this restaurant is totally worth the money.

The menu offers a range of traditional Irish dishes. Bricin Restaurant is known for their boxty, their version of an Irish potato pancake; the chicken and tarragon filling was beyond delicious! The pork apricot and lamb chops were divine, too! And don’t get me started on their desserts…
The Mad Monk by Quinlans

Ireland is known for its great seafood, and few spots compare to The Mad Monk. With a modern interior and vibrant ambience, this Killarney restaurant is perfect for those seeking out the freshest the ocean can offer; this was truly one of the best seafood restaurants.
Looking for something a little more casual? Quinlan’s Seafood Bar on nearby High Street is the perfect pick for tide to table fare.
Cronin’s

Since 1957, Cronin’s has been serving up some of the best Irish food in Killarney. The restaurant, located on College Street, might be slightly more formal than other spots on this list, with beautiful presentation and service – and just as welcoming as every other restaurant, too.

The meals at Cronin’s offer a beautiful array of starters showcasing local produce, like the hearty Kerry chowder. For your main, try the delicious Prime 10oz Hereford Sirloin Steak – you won’t be disappointed.
If you’re in the area, consider stopping at Jimmy Brien’s for a drink after.
Tan Yard

With its shabby-chic style and layered plants, the quiet ambiance and adventurous menu make Tan Yard one of the best places to eat in Killarney. There’s lots to love here for adventurous eaters – Manchego cheese croquettes and beetroot risotto, to start. For the mains, don’t miss the extensive selection of Irish Hereford prime cuts. This is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion in Killarney.
The Porterhouse

The family-run Porterhouse offers hearty Irish food in a cozy setting – and there’s a lot to love about this Killarney restaurant. If you’re looking for a tasty dinner in Killarney, you’ll love the traditional pub feeling with cute tables tucked away in nooks and crannies.
The meals here are among my favorites: crumbled brie, creamy seafood chowders and bloomer bread, to start. There’s plenty of fresh fish on the menu, but there’s also dishes with the signature Irish beef and lighter veggie options, too. It’s truly one of the best places to eat in Killarney.
The Peregrine

Located in the stunning Killarney Park Hotel, The Peregrine is one of three restaurants in the region picked for the prestigious Michelin guide – and the only one in Killarney.

This elegant restaurant is known for its ornate cornicing and warm lighting with a stunning oval-shaped cocktail bar and horseshoe-shaped booths. The menu here is seasonal, focusing on quality produce from the surrounding areas that highlight the main ingredients.
Genting Thai

The locally-loved Genting Thai has been a fixture in Killarney since 2004. Considered one of the best Thai restaurants in Ireland, Genting Thai is an authentic restaurant serving up local dishes with fresh spices and herbs. Their bright yet cozy space is a lovely break from Irish food in the area – don’t skip the pad thai!
